DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD FINALLY Has a Release Date

It's been ten long years since the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, but finally BioWare are set to release a new entry in the beloved series. Having been in a developmental spiral due to the developers' other projects, going through several changes along the way, the project has definitely been a long time coming. We thankfully don't have much longer to wait, with the studio dropping a release trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, announcing an October 31st launch date.

The near three minute video shows fans exactly what to expect from this upcoming release, including stunning locations, griffins and of course plenty of dragons. Mixing both gameplay and cinematics, the trailer the Veilguard pitted against a group of corrupt Elf gods in what looks like a complete revamp of the franchise.

Having burst onto the scene back with Dragon Age: Origins back in 2009, the fantasy series has become a massive hit for BioWare and EA, with the role-playing mechanics making for an immersive experience. Life hasn't been the kindest to the series over the years, with the following sequels being inconsistent at best. This new game looks to rebuild the concept from the ground up, focusing on real-time action combat. Whether this will prove to be the creative spark the series has desperately needed or not is up for debate, but so far things look very promising.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on October 31st.
