MAX PAYNE 1 & 2 REMAKE in Full Production

Alan Wake developers Remedy Entertainment has released its financial earnings report, detailing the progress of several upcoming projects. One game mentioned in this report was the highly anticipated Max Payne 1 & 2 remake, with the project having previously entered the “production readiness stage” ten months ago. The new update shows that the game has now moved to “full production stage” though no release window has been announced.

"Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed from production readiness to the full production stage. The development team has been working towards developing the game to an early functional state from beginning to end."

This update means that Remedy Entertainment are actively working on the remake, which will undoubtedly bundle both games into one package. Having originally released in 2001 and 2003 respectively, being published by Grand Theft Auto creators Rockstar Games, the first two entries of the Max Payne series proved pivotal to the franchise, with the comic style cutscenes and slow motion gameplay being popular amongst fans. Both have, however, become very dated over the years, with a overhaul being needed to entice new players.

Remaedy Entertainment's report also highlighted that Control 2 has entered “production readiness stage” with its live-service spin-off Condor entering “full production.”
