WARHAMMER 40,000: SPACE MARINE II Gets its Launch Trailer

We're days away from the official launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II with it already being available for those that pre-ordered or purchase the Gold or Ultra editions. Having waited thirteen long years for a sequel to the popular 2011 game, it goes without saying that there is plenty of hype surrounding this latest instalment, with Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment looking to build upon this with our final trailer.

Featuring a combination of cinematics and gameplay, this latest trailer highlights what to expect from the upcoming game. Whether it's blasting through the campaign solo or co-op, jumping online in PvP or PvE multiplayer matches or the various customisations players can make to their Space Marine, there is certainly a lot for fans to look forward to in this latest Warhammer 40,000 venture. The dynamic cinematics and crisp gameplay itself also entices, with it appearing as if Saber Interactive has created a faithful sequel to Relic Entertainment's original game.

Taking place over a hundred years after the events of the first game, the campaign will once again see players control of Demetrian Titus As he fights against the Tyranid infestation alongside his Deathwatch Chapter. The narrative will also explore the Primaris Space Marines, an enhanced breed of soldiers originally created to fight the forces of Chaos, having since been repurposed to aid in the battle against the Tyranids.

The video games calendar is looking very tasty for the remainder of the year, with Star Wars Outlaws, Black Myth: Wukong and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 all arriving within the next couple of months. Another release on the horizon is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, with the series making its long awaited return after thirteen years. Having first been announced back in December 2022 the game will see players once again take control of Captain Titus, with new developers Saber Interactive looking to give us a familiar, yet fresh take on the Space Marines class. Having already revealed various aspects of the upcoming release, the developers are now giving us an extended look at the game's multiplayer features.

The lengthy video showcases the third-person shooter/hack-n-slash gameplay that the original was known for, whilst appearing to bring the franchise up to modern standards. The focus is, however, predominantly on the game's multiplayer aspects, offering both a co-op campaign and PvP. The narrative driven campaign will allow up to three players to team up to complete missions, fighting various different foes and creatures along the way. The player versus modes on the other hand will allow up to twelve players to compete against one another over various different maps.

The game will also allow players to adopt six different classes: Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, Bulwark, Sniper, and Heavy. Furthermore players will be able to customise these by unlocking Chapter presets, with there being the ability to create your own custom Chapter using various individual cosmetics. The trailer would also showcase one of the game's more formidable creatures, the Carnifex, with the beast being capable of melting tank armour through their bio-plasma attacks.

On the whole the game looks simply majestic, with the addition of multiplayer and more so its co-op campaign sure to be a hit amongst fans. Its Gears of War-esque game style along with the Warhammer 40,000 lore should also result in an exciting product, with it being a game that fans should have on their wishlist.
