Star Wars Outlaws is here, with the Ubisoft published game being available as of today (three days early) for anyone that's purchased the Gold or Ultimate editions, as well as active Ubisoft+ subscribers. With this the reviews have begun pouring in, with things looking generally positive for the Massive Entertainment developed game.
As of writing the games Metacritic scores are in the 70s, sitting at 78 on both Xbox Series X (based on 21 critics) and PC (based on 28 critics), whilst only reaching an average of 77 on PlayStation 5 (based on 64 critics). It should be noticed that there is wide radius for the various ratings, with some outlets giving it flawless reviews and others slating in. An example of the latter comes from Eurogamer, who gave the game a 2 out of 5 star rating. There's still time for more reviews to drop between now and the game's official release on August 30th, with it likely to affect the average score one way or another.
Being the first fully open world game set in the galaxy far, far away, Star Wars Outlaws has been a project that fans have kept a close eye on. It will see players take control of Kay Vess, a scavenger seeking freedom and the ability to start a fresh life, being accompanied by her companion Nix. The game is set to take place between the events of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, with the story taking place over several different planets.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on August 30th, currently being available for Ubisoft+ subscribers and those that have pre-ordered the Gold or Ultimate editions.
