AVOWED DELAYED Until 2025

It's always a sad day when that video game you were looking forward to gets delayed. Now sometimes it's simply down to developers jumping the gun, promising an earlier release than practically feasible. Other times it's to iron out nagging bugs. Either way, it usually is in the best interest of both the product and the consumer.

The game in question is Obsidian’s Avowed, with Xbox claiming a crowded release schedule at the tail end of the year as the reason behind the delay. Originally slated to release sometime in 2024, Avowed has now been given a release date of February 18th, 2025.

Announcing the news on X the other day, Xbox had this to say:

Having been on my own personal radar, it is a little disappointing to see this news. Despite the unusual reasons behind the delay, this extra “breathing room” should allow developers Obsidian to iron out any bugs and put extra polish on the final product. In the meantime there's a plethora of games to look forward to, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Indian Jones and the Great Circle, as well as the latest Diablo IV, World of Warcraft and Starfield expansions still scheduled to release before the end of the year.

Avowed is set to come out on Xbox Series X/S as well as PC.
