Sinister FINAL Trailer for ALIEN: ROMULUS

The Alien franchise has certainly had its fair share of ups and downs over the years, with Ridley Scott's most recent attempt at giving us some history to the creatures in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant being questionable at best. Now that 20th Century Studios is under the Walt Disney umbrella, we're set to get a new take on these frightening foes, with Fede Álvarez’ upcoming blockbuster getting a tantalising final trailer.

Having a very familiar feel, this latest entry in the Alien franchise looks almost like a mirror image of the 1979 classic. And given that it's meant to act as a standalone interquel, set between the events of Alien and its sequel Aliens, it's nice to see that the film has these classic traits. Showcasing the menacing Facehuggers as well as a brief glimpse at the sinister Xenomorph that it eventually turns into, this trailer certainly sends shivers up the spine, looking like a promising addition to the beloved franchise.

Tantalising FIRST Trailer for THE CROW

Having been in development hell for several years, with the likes of Jason Momoa, Bradley Cooper and Luke Evans attached to the titular role, it was looking like we'd never get a new version of The Crow. Well we're soon to get one later this summer, with Lionsgate dropping their first official trailer a few months ago.

When it comes to classics, especially cult classics like The Crow, sometimes it's best to leave them alone. This looks like it might be the case with this upcoming remake, with this first official trailer leaving me with a lot of questions.

Set to the tune of Post Malone’s “Take What You Want” (featuring Ozzy Osborne and Travis Scott), this contemporary take on the 1994 classic definitely leaves an odd taste in the mouth. On the one hand it's nice to see a new spin on the character, with Bill Skarsgård sure to impress as Eric Draven, but at the same time it looks way too different from the original Brandon Lee portrayal. Despite this the trailer does certainly catch the eye, with it being a film sure to look out for when it enters cinemas later in the summer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

The first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The trailer sees a bit of TNMNT action whilst also showing other characters including April O'Neil.

My Thoughts

I have been very wary about this latest film version featuring the heroes in a half shell as with Michael Bay producing it could either be brilliant or disastrous. Following this trailer I'm still not completely swayed as to believe that this will be excellent, but it has shown some whit and humour giving some promise. One thing I can say is that I look forward to seeing it either way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is in cinemas August 8th.

Hercules Trailer

Hercules is a film that has taken a back-burner to the likes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla and many other films. I however am very excited for this upcoming film and after seeing this trailer I am even more so.

My Thoughts

I love these kind of trailers as though they don't really give a lot of premise or set-up they also don't allow your expectation to go into over gear, simply teasing you (hence the term teaser). Having not read the comic that this film is based on I'm not overly sure on what to expect but one thing I'm sure about and that is that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnston will be awesome as the legendary demigod.

Hercules is in cinemas July 25th.

Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer

Following the 15 second teaser trailer that was also released yesterday we get the first full length trailer which originally appeared on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! The trailer shows the Guardians in action for the first time, as well as introducing them for non-fans, in a mugshot line-up style.

My Thoughts

Having not been a Guardians of the Galaxy fan at the time I was very sceptical when this film was initially announced. That however has changed, as sine following the current comic series from launch I have became a huge fan of this diverse team. I'm now even more excited about this upcoming film, with this trailer rising my expectations. I do however still have partial scepticism over certain cast choices, but overall I have a good feeling about this film and look forward to August 1st.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer

Yesterday would see the release of the first trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2. The trailer shows Peter meeting Harry Osborn for the first time, as well as finding out that Oscorp has been keeping an eye on Peter over the last few years. The trailer also sees some of the villains that will feature in the film, including Electro, Rhino and Green Goblin, as well as the continuing tease of a possible Sinister Six appearance.

My Thoughts

I personally loved the first Amazing Spider-Man film and can't wait for the next to be released. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days of Future Past being released around the same time it is bound to be a great time for comic book fans, but in my opinion this has the potential to steal the spring. I do however have my concerns about the amount of villains involved, as in the past too many villains in a comic book film has usually lowered the quality, with previous Spider-Man films suffering this fate, though if any film can pull off this many villains at once I'm sure this will be it.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer

Today would see the release of the first Official Trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The trailer shows Professor Xavier and Magneto persuading Wolverine to travel back in time and prevent the war against mutants. We also get to see the younger versions of Xavier and Magneto and other cast members from X-Men: First Class again, as well as other cast members from the original three films, and new characters including Bishop and Warpath.

My Thoughts

I personally really liked this trailer, as it had a nice sombre tone to it, not showing too much of the events whilst getting me excited for the films release in May of next year. From what they showed in the trailer I am happy with how they've tweaked to Days of Future Past storyline to fit both sets of movies, as although it's a shame that Kitty Pryde is no longer the person travelling to the past, it makes much more sense for this story that it's Wolverine. It was also nice to see most of the cast members from both sets of films make a small appearance in the trailer as well, as well as seeing some of the new characters like Bishop and Warpath, and I hope that unlike some of the X-Men that were added to the original three films (such as Colossus) that these characters have a key role in the film. I also liked the meeting of the two Xavier's, but question whether this actually happens or whether it's just symbolism. Either way I am very excited about the film and can't wait for May to come.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer

This week has been full of Captain America: The Winter Soldier teases, with the first poster (pictured at bottom of the page) being revealed on Tuesday and a 16 second teaser trailer being released yesterday. Today however Marvel has released it's first full length trailer showing Cap in the present, working with S.H.I.E.L.D., also showing some of the Cap/Winter Soldier encounter.

My Thought

I am still not a fan of them using both the Super Soldier suit and the cowl in the same uniform, as although it's interesting to see Cap use his Super Soldier uniform whilst working with S.H.I.E.L.D. I just don't think it goes well with the cowl. I did however enjoy the interaction between Cap and Black Widow and look forward to seeing more of that in the film, and the Winter Soldier looks much more deadlier than he does in the comics, and I definitely look forward to seeing him and Cap fighting it out in the film.

Batman: Arkham Origins Launch Trailer

With Batman: Arkham Origins being released this Friday (25/10/13) Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have released the Batman: Arkham Origins - "Personal Mission" Launch Trailer. The trailer shows some of the videos gameplay, as well as Black Mask putting the bounty out on Batman. It also shows some of the other villains that will be involved in the game, and how they are all fighting for the bounty on Batman's head.
