X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer

Today would see the release of the first Official Trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The trailer shows Professor Xavier and Magneto persuading Wolverine to travel back in time and prevent the war against mutants. We also get to see the younger versions of Xavier and Magneto and other cast members from X-Men: First Class again, as well as other cast members from the original three films, and new characters including Bishop and Warpath.

My Thoughts

I personally really liked this trailer, as it had a nice sombre tone to it, not showing too much of the events whilst getting me excited for the films release in May of next year. From what they showed in the trailer I am happy with how they've tweaked to Days of Future Past storyline to fit both sets of movies, as although it's a shame that Kitty Pryde is no longer the person travelling to the past, it makes much more sense for this story that it's Wolverine. It was also nice to see most of the cast members from both sets of films make a small appearance in the trailer as well, as well as seeing some of the new characters like Bishop and Warpath, and I hope that unlike some of the X-Men that were added to the original three films (such as Colossus) that these characters have a key role in the film. I also liked the meeting of the two Xavier's, but question whether this actually happens or whether it's just symbolism. Either way I am very excited about the film and can't wait for May to come.

Major Simpson Character Getting Killed Off

The Simpsons has been going for a long time now, with it's 25th season just starting a few days ago. They will however be one main character short before the season is out as executive producer Al Jean announced that a character would die during this season.

Jean wouldn't reveal who the character and told Canadian Sun Times, "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."

Jean also revealed the the last episode in the season would see a crossover with Futurama saying, "I've been here 25 years, and we had a read yesterday where the excitement was as high as I've ever seen. We had John DiMaggio and Billy West and (Canadian voice-over king) Maurice LaMarche from Futurama, as well as our cast, and I thought that's got to be the greatest voiceover talent assembled at one read. It was really, really great to see Bender interacting with Homer."

My Thoughts

It's been quite some time since The Simpsons killed off a major character with it being 14 years since Maude Flanders died, and although there will be upset people no matter who's chosen it's about time that they did something as dramatic as this. Now the hint doesn't really add much help as a lot of The Simpsons voice talent have won awards over the years. I personally think it's going to be Sideshow Bod, but if it's not it could be someone closer to home like Grampa or even possibly the Comic Book Guy who's to be wed this season. It could however be anyone as the only characters that are sure to be safe are the main family.

Gotham TV Series Coming to Fox

Fox has landed the rights to make the upcoming TV series "Gotham" working with Warner Bros. TV and Mentalist creator Bruno Heller. It has been reported by Deadline that the TV series will supposedly centre  James Gordon also featuring some of Gotham's most notorious villains.

My Thoughts

I've always wanted to see a Batman related live action TV series come out, as although Batman himself should stay away from TV as due to being very successful in films over the last few years he should be kept for that. I do however feel that this is a very good concept for a Batman centred series, as although I personally have always felt that Nightwing should be made into a TV series, this concept intrigues me slightly more, and I hope that we also get to see some heroes along the way. I do however feel that this all rides now on who they get to play Gordon as if they get that wrong the series is sure to fail. I do however also hope that this doesn't turn into a CSI, flashy TV series and is more like of a sci-fi style detective show with a similar style to Fringe or X-Files, without being the exact same style though.
